Tannins are playful yet give structure, the acidity a huge feature and keeps the wine feeling fresh and wonderfully drinkable. A serious rendition of the variety. This is very good drinking.

About The Wine
The Somos lads are on a roll and they've really stepped things up a gear here.
Somos' standard Aglianico offering has arguably been the most impressive wine in the range over the last couple of years - the guys clearly have an understanding of this late-ripening Italian variety - and this is one of the more serious Aglianicos around. It comes from Paxton's biodynamically famed vineyard, and despite being hung out to ripen and develop flavour all the way into May, still retains remarkable acidity and freshness.
It's so perfumed, so juicy and just so interesting. If you've enjoyed Somos' Aglianico in the past, this is another level up. Bravo!
About Somos
The Somos wines are the product of two enthusiastic young winemakers - one Australian and one Mexican - looking to make interesting and contemporary wines from McLaren Vale.
Benjamin Caldwell and Mauricio Ruiz Cantu are the creative duo behind this exciting project, with the wines exported back to South & Central America as well as sold through just a handful of outlets and venues locally in Australia. The focus is on 'alternative' varieties from sustainably managed vineyards - their Aglianicos being of particular note.
Their unique wines are made with a deft touch, the resulting styles perfumed and balanced, bursting with energy and personality. Just minuscule volumes produced, but great fun to be had across the Somos range.
