About The Wine
Made in the Burgundian style, Savaterre's pristine Pinot is a show-stopping example of how good Beechworth wines can taste when crafted with skill and a generous dose of restraint.
From 25-year old vines farmed organically, the grapes are fermented with 70% whole bunch, lending the wine a lifted, herbal aroma and a velvety soft texture. A minimalist approach in winemaking means wild fermentation, no fining or filtering, and only small doses of sulphites.
Takes a while to open up, but well worth the wait.
About Savaterre
Savaterre is a small Beechworth winery with a large reputation.
Founded in 1996, this premium producer boasts one of the most sought-after Chardonnays in the Beechworth region, regularly talked about in the same esteem as the likes of Giaconda and Sorrenberg.
Power is the theme here - in both the reds and whites made by Keppell Smith.
While he produces only a small amount of wine each year, Keppell's loyal following continues to grow, making his wines increasingly difficult to track down!
