Arinto most definitely has the ‘wow’ factor. It makes fresh, flavoursome and complex wine. It really is a grape variety that will start turning heads!

About The Wine
Of all the white varieties thriving on Ricca Terra Farms, Ash Ratcliff thinks Arinto may have one of the biggest futures - he's backing it in.
It's not hard to see why. The variety holds great acidity, is bright and full of flavour, and most importantly, makes delicious white wines perfect for our warm Australian climate.
Portugal is its home but it looks like Arinto is finding a new happy hunting ground here, and Ash Ratcliff and his Ricca Terra crew are at the front of the pack.
About Ricca Terra
Ashley Ratcliff is one of the Riverlands most forward-thinking viticultural minds. After leaving Yalumba to set up his own Riverland vineyard, he began investigating the potential for obscure alternative varieties in his chosen region. Varieties that retain acidity in the heat, such as Fiano and Arinto have struck a cord, as well as Nero d'Avola, Negroamaro and Tinta Barocca which thrive in warmer climes.
His Ricca Terra Vintners label showcases these interesting varieties and their suitability to our climate. Whether straight varietal wines or creative blends, every wine is deliciously approachable and superb value for money.
Ash is one of the most important viticulturalists in Australia and his passion and knowledge are vital to the future of the Australian industry. Ricca Terra was named one of the Top Ten Best New Wineries in the 2020 Halliday Wine Companion.
