About Pooley

Pooley is one of the leading family-owned wineries in Tasmania, renowned for their exquisite Single Vineyard examples of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling from the Coal River region, less than an hour north of Hobart.

The family vineyard was planted in 1985 by Margaret and Denis Pooley. Today it is in the hands of the third generation of Pooleys, with award-winning winemaker Anna Pooley heading up the cellar and her brother Matt as viticulturalist. They make a killer team and the family business is going from strength to strength.

Anna's wines are pure, refined and eminently cellar-worthy. A class-act producer setting a cracking pace for all of Tasmania to follow.

DDS review

Breathtaking Pinot Noir here. Smooth, silky - like lying in a bed of satin sheets with a bowl of fresh picked berries from the garden. There's spring-time perfume of flowers in full bloom, a snug fitting cradle of oak meshed beautifully to the fruit. Sensational. - Different Drop Wine Team

Additional Info

From The Producer

From 20 year old vines grown at our Cooinda Vale vineyard in Campania. Hints of spice sit delicately atop a vibrant and red fruit spectrum. The palate is layered with energetic fruit, minerality, spice and perfectly pitched acidity. Fine tannin provides the foundation for the wine to build over time. A small amount of stems included in the ferments provides another element of structure which bodes well for a long and rewarding life ahead.
