Light yet powerful. Sweet yet savoury. Tastes like finding a raspberry garden in the middle of the rain forrest.
About The Wine
This is the only red-ish wine released in the suite of new creations from Victorian wildman, Patrick Sullivan.
Rain is a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer from the stunning vineyard tended by Pat in the Baw Baw Shire of Victoria.
With his sights set firmly on making exclusively White wines from here on in, Pat sees Rain as a bit of fun built for super drinkability. The lightness and freshness of the wine, the outrageous perfume generated by these three varieties in tandem makes this an utterly charming drink.
Chill and get stuck in.
About Patrick Sullivan
The wild-haired Patrick Sullivan is a farmer first, winemaker second.
His pride and joy is his vineyard in the Strezleki Ranges in the Gippsland G.I. of Victoria. On this plot of land, Pat farms with organic principals alongside Bill Downie, one of the most revolutionary winemakers of his generation.
Bill takes the Pinot Noir from the vineyard, Pat takes the Chardonnay and a few other bits and pieces. The wines are un-tinkered with, fermented in neutral vessels with little or no sulphur and are made to express their special site and the vagaries of vintage.
In Pat's words, "The wines are inspired by emotion, a moment in time and a sense of place."
