About The Wine
Michael Downer is working some magic with the wines under the Murdoch Hill banner. An inspired young winemaker taking the brand in a good direction.
The fruit from their home estate in Oakbank makes up a portion of the Murdoch Hill Pinot Noir, with the balance coming from premium local vineyards. Michael treats it gently. It's an easy wine to like. Slender in frame, ample "pinotsity" to keep the Pinot fanatics in their seats and outstanding value.
It's a wine that feels like it went to bottle effortlessly. If you are on the hunt for quality Pinot Noir under the $30 threshold, Michael's will unquestionably deliver the goods.
About Murdoch Hill
Murdoch Hill is a family-owned winery captained by talented young winemaker Michael Downer.
Downer splits the range in two: his clean-cut, consistently high-quality ‘Estate’ wines are excellent value and perpetually reliable, and his quirky, adventurous ‘Artisan’ wines which offer an alt-styling and different shades of the region.
With the combination of high-quality Adelaide Hills fruit grown on the family estate and the undoubted talent in the winery, this is a Hills producer on the up and up!
