About The Wine
Maison Valette is a cult name in France, mentioned with the same reverence as natural wine pioneers Jean Foillard and Antoine Arena.
Brothers Baptiste and Philippe Valette let their estate-grown, organically-farmed grapes do the talking here: with a hands-off, zero-addition approach to winemaking. Sourced from the old vines of their vineyards in the esteemed Maconnais village of Chaintre, this is a wine that you won't be forgetting any time soon.
After wild fermentation, the wine is aged on its lees for two years, in a mixture of stainless steel tanks and old French oak barrels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with zero sulphur.
About Maison Valette
Maison Valette is a cult name in French wine circles, only recently 'discovered' by the rest of the world.
Brothers Baptiste and Philippe today continue the work started by their father Gerard Valette, farming seventeen hectares of vines in the Macon, ten of which are in the prestigious Chaintre village. They use organic practices in the vineyards, and follow a strictly natural approach in the cellar.
No sulphur is added to their wine, and they produce some of the best natural Chardonnay out there at the moment.
