About The Wine
The poor rocky soils of Gevrey’s Grand Cru Latriciere and the cool vintage of 2017, play straight into the Le Moine style.
Nourished through his exacting work in the cellar with extended time on lees, this is filling its frame nicely.
Sleek and sinewy there’s a wispy smokiness and fine bracing red fruit.
About Lucien Le Moine
Lucien Le Moine is a partnership between husband and wife team of Mounir and Rotem Saouma.
Theirs has been one of the most talked about negociant operations on the modern Cote D'Or. They actively source parcels from the finest Premier and Grand Cru vineyards up and down Burgundy.
Winemaking wise, they have been touted as one of the benchmark 'modernist producers', however, Mounir believes that his long, slow elevages and minimal use of sulphur harken back to the Burgundy production of an era gone by.
On their operation, Jancis Robinson wrote, "An extraordinary micro negociant in Beaune. Very serious quality." These are powerful, complex wines of imposing quality and stature.
