About The Wine
Pinot Nero is the Italian name for Pinot Noir, the name keeping in step with the overall theme of the La Prova series: Australian examples of Italian wines.
This offering by Sam Scott, the winemaker behind La Prova is an easy drinking yet characterful version of Pinot from the Adelaide Hills.
Scott sources fruit from two vineyards in the Hills to make up this wine, combining the strengths of both sites to make a balanced and complex version of the variety.
About Scott Wines
Sam Scott has a clear vision for his Scott and La Prova labels - Italian inspired wines done with an Australian sensibility.
Utilising his retail, winemaking and viticultural experience, he has crafted a range of interesting, charming wines from select vineyards through Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Langhorne Creek.
They are vibrant and fruit-forward but with a savoury twist and great varietal character. Value-for-money wise, the range is up there with the best in the country.
Sam is an excellent guy and a supremely talented winemaker, as James Halliday noted, “Scott is a star in the making.”
