About the Wine

Gary Mills ventures to the Chalmers vineyard in Heathcote for this exciting new addition to his range.

This is biologically farmed Sagrantino, whole bunch fermented, untouched and untampered, barely kissed by oak and sent to bottle in the primacy of youth. It's a red built for max slurpability, the signature rough Sagrantino tannins reigned in by the early picking and gentle handling from Gary.

It's as juicy and spicy as you could want a red wine to be. Don't be afraid to give this a slight chill, that's what it's made for!

About Jamsheed

Gary Mills is a modern star of Victorian wine. His Jamsheed wines are amongst the most exciting in the country: thrilling, authentic wines packed with personality. Campbell Mattinson labelled him “a leading producer”, Jamie Goode called him “the new face of Australian wine” and Matthew Jukes went as far as to call the wine of Jamsheed “a revelation”.

With a specific focus on the regional differences in Victorian Syrah for his Jamsheed range, Gary has been one of the loudest advocates for the inclusion of whole bunch ferments and was ahead of the curve in creating minimal intervention wines that naturally convey the characteristics of their respective vineyards.

On top of his much sought-after Syrahs, Gary produces excellent textural white wines from varieties including Riesling and Roussanne, and is never afraid to innovate with his quirky and delicious entry level 'Harem' label. 

Wild, electric and a little left of centre, Jamsheed is one of the Victoria’s most compelling producers.

"This is a side step range from the usual Jamsheed wines, and arrives in Champagne bottles with crown seals. Keeping us on our toes with a new range, the ever relevant Gary Mills has pulled out some great wines from this tranche. He sources from the often plundered Chalmers Vineyard for the sagrantino that becomes this wine. It’ll take a light chill too. Slurpy, bright red of loose knit, jolly fun. Red berry fruits, a web of bony, silty tannins, mouthwatering acidity and a general feel of high drinkability. Spice rolls deep in the wine, so does this crisp acid line that feels well meshed into the sweet-savoury fruit characters. This is tasty stuff, with lots of vibrancy on its side. Created using biologically grown Sagrantino from the Chalmers Vineyard in Heathcote, Victoria. Fermented as a whole bunches, raised in old oak for a short term and bottled unfiltered and unfined.

We ship primarily with Australia Post. Their fast, easy and reliable delivery is completely FREE for any orders of $150 or more, or just $9 for any orders of $149 or less. There is no minimum order quantity and you can mix and match as much as you like.

The vast majority of orders are dispatched from our Sydney warehouse on the same or next business day. Estimated delivery time frames can be viewed here. Please include Authority to Leave instructions in the ‘SPECIAL REQUESTS’ box during checkout if you may not be available to sign for your delivery and would like it left at your front door.
