About The Wine
This superb expression of Sauvignon Blanc comes from about as far south as you can go on the African continent.
Right in the deep south of the country, winemaker David Nieuwoudt picks this fruit by hand in the wee hours of the morning to maintain freshness and purity in the style. As the name suggest, the wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged in barrel on lees for 10 months before bottling bringing a creamy lusciousness to the palate.
This took home the Trophy for Best Sauvignon Blanc at the 2019 Six Nations Wine Competition.
About Ghost Corner
The evocatively named Ghost Corner is located in the southern-most tip of South Africa.
More than 130 ships have wrecked themselves off the coast of this cape. Just a little way back off this treacherous piece of coastline sits the vineyard that produces these lovely cool-climate wines.
Owner and winemaker David Nieuwoudt crafts these small-batch wines to reflect the nervy energy and tension of their extreme terroir.
