About The Wine

Adam Foster sent many years creating the much loved Foster E Rocco Sangiovese and its multiple incranations.

Now, he's folded that project under the Garden of Earthly Delights project, a subset of his Syrahmi label.

Adam's always had a way with Sangiovese, finding the variety's natural structure and depth whilst allowing the warm Australian sunshine to show in the ripeness of fruit.

He's been working with this variety long before it was 'cool' in Australia. Here he continues his run of well-crafted, earthy, yet full-flavoured Sangiovese with a proud Australian accent.

About Syrahmi

Adam Foster loves Heathcote.

He loves the ancient soils, the climate, the fruit that grows in the area. This is his personal label that focuses on individual parcels of fruit from some of the most idiosyncratic vineyards in the region.

Adam has planted a small vineyard on a granite-riddled outcrop in Tooboorac which has enormous potential.

His wines are old-world inspired, powerful and intense. A producer to watch for the future, no doubt about it.

"This is excellent in any language. Bloody scents, fresh kill, game meat, dried rose petals, faint camp fire notes, fennel and rosemary lifting things. Supple but dark fruited flavours, some chocolate, game meat again too, stretching luxuriously, silky tannins building gently to a fine pucker to close. Acidity is bright and fresh. The wine is so very drinkable, charming, detailed and gluggable. Thanks, Adam." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

    Very enjoyable

Top notch Australian Sangiovese. Earthy and rustic, loaded with ferrous characters, sour cherry, cherry elixir and liqourice. A veritable wall of chalky tannins is a real highlight. One of the better - and more serious - Sangiovese wines produced in Australia.
