About The Wine

A new wine into the Domenica fold this year. 

This Rosé is made from juice from the famous Domenica Nebbiolo. Fermented in barrel for texture, some solids came along for the ride to lend weight. This is a serious savoury Rosé with great backbone and drive.

There is precious little Nebbiolo fruit on the Domenica vineyard, and even less assigned to this wine, but it's a blinder.

If you're looking for a more serious, food-friendly style of Rosé, this is a great option.

About Domenica

Peter Graham is one of Beechworth's most thoughtful and talented winemakers. From his small plot of land on the Beechworth "Golden Mile", Pete crafts articulate and powerful wines with a gentle hand.

He farms his vineyard organically, though uncertified, with great care. The quality of fruit it yields is first class. In the winery, everything is moved via gravity. Patience is a virtue that Pete definitely possesses. No wine is released until it's 'ready'. 

The Nebbiolo is one of the country's benchmarks. The Chardonnay is always in high demand given Pete's history as assistant winemaker at Giaconda. The Shiraz is the very model of modern Australian Shiraz; a wine with both power and refinement.

"The notable Beechworth nebbiolo producer makes a rose from the free run, which is naturally fermented and matured in barrel – what a coup for us! And it is a belter… Pale salmon colour. Soft scents of strawberry, peaches, light spice. The palate is very delicate, pure-feeling, strawberry kissed, zesty with green apple acidity, finishing with light nutty savouriness and a lick of talc-like mineral charm. From The Producer

The fruit was basket pressed, juice assembled then racked to barrel with some solids retained.

Left on skins for 15 minutes or so. Fermentation was allowed to proceed using wild yeast in old barriques at medium temperature. Malolactic was arresed and on completion of fermetantion/clarification the wine was racked to stainless steel.

We ship primarily with Australia Post. Their fast, easy and reliable delivery is completely FREE for any orders of $150 or more, or just $9 for any orders of $149 or less. There is no minimum order quantity and you can mix and match as much as you like.

The vast majority of orders are dispatched from our Sydney warehouse on the same or next business day. Estimated delivery time frames can be viewed here. Please include Authority to Leave instructions in the ‘SPECIAL REQUESTS’ box during checkout if you may not be available to sign for your delivery and would like it left at your front door.
