About The Wine
McLaren Vale could make a claim as the home of Fiano in Australia, with so many top-notch versions coming from its sandy soils now. Well, here's another from the Dodgy Bros collective.
It's from a vineyard in the Sellicks Foothills of the Vale. Picked with freshness in mind, a little barrel ferment, a little ageing in older hogsheads, no additions except a touch of sulphur - it all seems to be spot on from the guys. It's not hard to see why so many people are turning to this variety.
Texture, freshness, weight but without sweetness, it's a top-notch drink. Gary Walsh offered an emphatic "YES" with his 93 point review and pegged it as "Wonderful, textural, interesting Fiano." which sums it up nicely.
Lovely Fiano here, time to back up the truck, or the boat, to load up on this little ripper.
About Dodgy Bros
What started as a small garage winemaking project for viticulturalist Peter Bolte, has grown into a full-time fun-filled winemaking gig.
With fruit secured from top growers with a handshake, Peter, along with Canadian winemaker Wes Pearson and 'grower extraordinaire' Peter Sommerville are now making tasty treats in a wide range of styles from excellent McLaren Vale sites.
The Dodgy Bros wines don't take themselves too seriously. These are adventurous and energetic wines with plenty of personality.
