About The Wine
They say necessity is the mother of invention, and that's certainly the case with this little wine from Tim and Lawrence Scanlon.
There was a good chance they were only going to release around 30 dozen reds from 2017 until young rock 'n' roller Jordy Kay (Chevré Wines) came to the rescue.
He found a little Shiraz from the Bluestone Lane in Balnarring. The boys grabbed it with both hands.
In the winery, they fermented half the fruit as whole bunches, sent it to old oak to chill out for a while, then bottled it without any additions including sulphur.
This is a spicy, crunchy, delicious little Syrah which was well worth the pain on picking day (see From The Producer for the story).
