If you are as meticulous in the winery as Shaun Crinion, more often than not, you're going to produce a winner, particularly in a year as good as 2017.

There's a lot of attention to detail behind the scenes in this $29 Pinot Noir. Every berry selected by hand, some light foot-stomping, gentle plunging over its three weeks on skins just a few of the steps along the way to this wine getting made. Shaun going for soft extraction with max impact.

He hits the nail on the head. This is an excellent pinot noir from 2017.

When a high-value proposition Pinot Noir like this comes along, it usually doesn't stick around too long.

Dappled is a producer to get on early.  Owner/winemaker Shaun Crinion has a mountain of winemaking experience from round the globe, culminating in recent years with the establishment of this, his own label.  Shaun's focus is in expressing the regionality of the Yarra Valley through simply gorgeous Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, sourced from a range of Upper and Lower Yarra vineyards.

Through his vineyard connections, brilliantly astute winemaking and a desire to keep his wines approachable to all, the value on offer in the Dappled range is second to none.  Throw in what may be the best Gewurztraminer in Australia, and some of the most beautiful packaging you're likely to see, and Dappled is the complete package.

From The Producer

A blend of cool upper Yarra vineyards (predominately MV6 clone with a small amount of D5V12). Winemaking employs minimal intervention and more traditional techniques; cold soak, wild yeast, foot plunging, open ferments,  30% whole bunch with natural MLF and only 15% new oak. 10 months on full lees with no additions except SO2.

Bottled by gravity, un-fined and unfiltered.

Shipping & Delivery

We ship primarily with Australia Post. Their fast, easy and reliable delivery is completely FREE for any orders of $150 or more, or just $9 for any orders of $149 or less. There is no minimum order quantity and you can mix and match as much as you like.

The vast majority of orders are dispatched from our Sydney warehouse on the same or next business day. Estimated delivery time frames can be viewed here. Please include Authority to Leave instructions in the ‘SPECIAL REQUESTS’ box during checkout if you may not be available to sign for your delivery and would like it left at your front door.
