About The Wine
The Tenuta Nuova is the 'new estate', with vines planted in 1989 in the southern edge of the Brunello region. It has quickly become one of the country's most sought-after wines with great reviews vintage after vintage.
Structured, dense but silky - very full-bodied at this early stage but keep an eye on those melting tannins over the years. Balsamic and bright red fruits on the nose, with a palate full of truffle, mulch, spice and some graphite/tar notes.
An exceptional but rare wine. Just a few bottles available.
About Casanova di Neri
With a long held dream to make great Italian red wine, Giovanni Neri bucked convention, and passed up on Chianti Classico in favour of purchasing Podere Casanova in 1971, a mere 4 years after Montalcino had achieved DOC status.
Changing the name to Casanova di Neri, he worked in consultation with some of Tuscany’s leading winemakers, to restore the estate’s existing Sangiovese vines and plant new ones.
Today run by Giovanni’s grandson (also Giovanni), the estate is now farmed organically, with four single Cru Brunellos which showcase the old-vines of the estate, now over half a century old.
They have transitioned from an upstart producer in an unknown DOC, to a superstar, and one of the benchmarks against which Brunello di Montalcino is judged.

Tenuta Nuova is a pioneering and visionary vineyard project emboding the belief and passion of Casanova di Neri. Tenuta Nuova means new property; Tenuta Nuova is a place where nobody planted Sangiovese before; Tenuta Nuova is the will of Casanova di Neri to produce a powerful yet drinkable Brunello with a high ageing potential. The project began with the study of varied local microclimates and their optimal exposures. Through a cautious and passionate research Casanova di Neri has used the most sophisticated scientific investigations to determine the clones, rootstocks, cultivation practices, plant density per hectare and every possible particular to obtain excellent Sangiovese grapes.
Bright and youthful red. The bouquet is powerful and complex, with all the ingredients of a generous vintage expressing themselves: fresh white flowers, followed by intense and ripe scents of small fruits, such as cherry and wild blackberry. Finally, it shows the refreshing balsamic notes typical of every Tenuta Nuova. To the palate it quickly unveils its full, riche and intense character. Even in a Mediterranean vintage as 2017, its balance is unmistakable. The tannic texture blends perfectly with its acidity, giving birth to an elegant and persistent ending. A very enjoyable vintage, from now, which will nonetheless surprise us in the years to come.

Do I have to order in dozens? No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!
Are there volume discounts? No, our pricing is designed to be the best in market already - no marking up and then discounting down! For very large orders (weddings, etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call.
Do we price match? Yes, within reason. Everyday low & consistent pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll consider matching it. We'll even retrospectively issue you store credit if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.
Can coupons and discounts be stacked? No, only one discount or coupon can be applied to an order at once.
I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me? This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Does Different Drop have a physical store? No. Just an a warehouse/office. We occasionally do events however, so sign up to our newsletter or follow us on instagram to stay in the loop.
Can I special order a wine you do not sell? If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
