Bright in fruit character yet laden with savouriness. A very good wine." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

About The Wine
Since bursting onto the scene a couple years back with some big reviews and the Trophy for Best Rose at the Alternative Variety Wine show, this Bellwether Rosé has developed somewhat of a cult following.
This is made from Nero d’Avola, Barbera and Pinot Grigio, with the bulk of the fruit coming from Ash Ratcliff at Ricca Terra in the Riverland, SA.
The Riverland region is doing amazing things for discovering alternative varieties, but none have proven more successful or climatically suited than the Sicilian Nero d'Avola grape.
Most Neros on the market currently are in the form of dry red wines (in a range of styles mind you), but this wine shows just how well the wine can work for Rosé too.
It's crisp, dry and savoury, and really is the perfect style of refreshing, food-friendly and interesting Rosé. Another home run from Sue Bell!
About Bellwether
Bellwether is the creation of Sue Bell - a woman regarded as one of the country's most talented (and hard-working) winemakers.
Based in Coonawarra where she now works out of an iconic old shearing shed, Sue works with a range of growers and vineyards around South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania to put together her unique range of wines.
All are made very much by hand, with minimal intervention in the winery and a focus on capturing the essence of each variety, site and season.
Wonderful wines well worth getting to know!
