About the Wine
With winemaking in their lineage since around 1513 and an incredibly rich history of vinegrowers and wine merchants, Alphonse Mellot is truly an iconic name in the Loire Valley.
Their Generation Dix-Neuf Sancerre is named for the brains and hands behind the wine, Alphonse Mellot, the 19th generation of the Mellot family. The fruits going into this cuvee come from the oldest vines in the picturesque Moussiere vineyard, nurtured and handled with love and precision.
The resultant wine is one full of vibrancy, energy, racy acidity and a deliciously mouthwatering saline minerality. It is a fantastic showcase of all that Sauvignon Blanc can be when in the right hands.
