2017 Adelina Nebbiolo Rosato

Adelaide Hills, SA

Firm and structured Nebbiolo Rosé. Class act here from the Adelina team.

About The Wine

Lovers of serious, structural, food-friendly Rosés, hold onto your hats!

This Adelina Rosato is a wine made from saigneed juice from their exquisite Estate Nebbiolo, fermented in old neutral barriques. The Bowe Lees and Loveys vineyards that supply the fruit are two of the Adelaide Hills' premier sources of Nebbiolo fruit. The complex array of clonal material on these blocks give many layers to the wines produced from these sites. Col and Jen do a ripping job of it.

This is a traditional Rosato style, firm, savoury and begging to be drunk with food.

About Adelina

Col McBryde and Jennie Gardner are Adelina. A pair of smart cookies, each rocking a PhD in microbiology and between them some pretty serious winemaking chops. Together, they have formed one of the Clare Valley's most exciting wineries.

From what was a small operation that began in 2002, slowly but surely the Adelina brand has been picking up steam.

There is a delicacy and purity inherent in every wine they produce. From opulent old vine Shiraz and Mataro, to one of the country's most excellent Nebbiolo and a set of scintillating Rieslings, there is a sense of class and refinement to the whole project.

These meticulously crafted, beautifully presented wines are just a joy to drink.

Critic Reviews

DDS review

Slightly coppery in colour savoury, firm and a little reductive at first. But boy does it bring the power in the palate. Dry as a bone, ripped with tannin and spice. A flinty and also minerally style of Rosato, screaming for food. So much tannin and drive throught the orange peel finish. Dead serious. Not your typical fluffy, easy rose but pretty cool. - Different Drop Wine Team
