About The Wine

The Woods Crampton 'White Label' Shiraz has been well noted as one of the best buys in the region for the last few years.

Well, for all the Cabernet lovers out there, here's the Cab version where the value is just as good!

This fruit comes from a vineyard on the cooler side of the Barossa, closer to the Eden Valley, where Cabernet ripens slower and more steadily.

It's still rich and robust but maintains balance through the mouth. It's a big, delicious glass of Cabernet that is ready to drink straight away.

About Woods Crampton

Woods Crampton is an energetic brand quickly making a big name for themselves out of the Barossa Valley.

Essentially a two-man operation, their range is a mix of traditional Barossa and some obscure Mediterranean varieties. The wines are full-flavoured but beautifully balanced.

And the value is always extremely high.

In Woods Crampton you see a modern approach to a historic region.

From The Producer

Vineyard: Sourced from a single, low yielding twenty five year old vineyard in the Angaston Foothills, right on the boundary road between Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. Sheltered by the Angaston hills, the vines are cooled in the afternoons because of shadows from hills and cool evenings as tucked into a gulley, perfect for slow ripening Cabernet Sauvignon..

Winemaking: Hand Picked and fully destemmed (no whole bunch) before a short cold soak of three to four days. The fruit was allowed to reach ambient temperature and begin fermentation naturally. A slow cool fermentation at twenty five to twenty seven degrees in one tonne open fermenters on skins for 20 days before being pressed off to hogshead French barrels. 45% New French Hogshead barrels, matured without racking for 18 months before being blended, bottled without finings or filtration.

Blend : Cabernet Sauvignon (100%)
ABV : 14.40%
Closure : Screw cap
Drink Until : 2026
Bottle Size : 750ml

Critic Reviews

Wine Orbit

"Mouthfilling and delicious, the wine shows classic cabernet aromas of crème de cassis, blueberry and cigar with nuances of spice and chocolate tart on the nose. The palate is concentrated and weighty, wonderfully complemented by silky texture and fine tannins. A gorgeous cabernet offering richness as well as structure. At its best: now to 2024." - Sam Kim (The Wine Orbit)

The Wine Front

"A new entrant for Woods Crampton, I suspect, and to disambiguate it from the other Cabernet Sauvignon I’ve added ‘White Label’ to its name.Blackcurrant and blackberry, dried mint, toast and spice. It’s medium to full-bodied, supple, sweet and juicy with its plump berried flavour, has a little of that Eden Valley tinned corn/truffle thing happening, with maybe some tobacco and sage too. Tannin is fleshy and fine grained, and cleans up the finish nicely. Good drinking about now too." - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)
