About The Wine
A single barrel of Shiraz fruit from a single block.
All whole bunch fermented. A wild and particularly European expression of Syrah from the Adelaide Hills by the hands of Turon White.
This is a smoky, meaty wine that looks much more like something you might see out of Hermitage than out of the Adelaide Hills. It's such an interesting wine, with the hallmarks of a young talented winemaker behind it.
If you love a more Eurocentric expression of Shiraz, this should be right in your wheelhouse.
This was rated 95 points from James Halliday and there were only 30 dozen made.
Turon White is a young, articulate and intelligent winemaker - the kind we need more of in this country.
His mission to go beyond just variety and region, and explore sub-region, the site and the clone as a wholistic investigation. He is ahead of the curve in much of the Australian wine industry.
With only a few vintages under the Turon label under his belt, the future seems bright for this great new Adelaide Hills talent.
In 2019, James Halliday dubbed him, "One of the best three new wineries in this Companion". There's plenty more to come from this SA rising star.
