About The Wine

There's an exciting new development for this great site, talented and accomplished winemaker Peter Dredge now bringing the wines from these vines back into the public space.

Dredge has a deft touch with Pinot Noir, combining elements of reductive funk and earth with dazzlingly bright and pure fruit character. This is a smashing Pinot Noir. One to keep a close eye on as Dredge continues to get to know the site.

The 2016 took out the Trophy for Best Pinot Noir at the 2017 Sydney Royal Wine Show, one of the country's most prestigious, and received 94 points from Campbell Mattinson.

Highly recommended for fans of premium Tasmanian Pinot Noir.

THE GEOFFREY CRUNDALL PERPETUAL TROPHY FOR BEST PINOT NOIR - 2017 Sydney Royal Wine Show

95Points
Halliday Wine Companion

"There is a slight lift on the bouquet from partial barrel fermentation and long lees contact. This is a fitting complement to the power of the primary fruit flavours of strawberry and fresh berry compote. There is a softness to this Pinot Noir, the silky or satin like tannin-structure is first rate, with just enough back-palate weight from stalk use and light French oak, to hold its length." - James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)

"Straight into excellent territory here. This is why we’re so lucky in Australia: we get this level of pinot noir for $55, which isn’t cheap in general terms but in a world pinot noir context is a steal. So complex, so satiny, so well framed, so persistent. Woodsmoke, sulphur, tangy red/black cherry, super-fresh strawberries and fistfuls of dry spice. Sinewy and satiny simultaneously. It will develop beautifully but personally I wouldn’t be able to resist right now." - Campbell Matinson (The Wine Front)
