About the Wine
Any die-hard Nebbiolo fans out there? If there are, this wine isn't going to last long. This is one of the best value for money examples we've seen coming from Australia.
Sam Scott is a champion of Italian varieties in Australia, showing just how well they can suit the right site. This is a gorgeous example of the marriage of variety and vineyard. It's not as aggressive or assertive as Nebbiolo can be, instead relying on its innate elegance. Some time in bottle has resulted in a softly textured wine, with dried roses, exotic spice and sour cherries. Beautifully perfumed and an utter charmer.
About Scott & La Prova Wines
Sam Scott has a clear vision for his Scott and La Prova labels - Italian inspired wines done with an Australian sensibility.
Utilising his retail, winemaking and viticultural experience, he has crafted a range of interesting, charming wines from select vineyards through Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Langhorne Creek.
They are vibrant and fruit-forward but with a savoury twist and great varietal character. Value-for-money wise, the range is up there with the best in the country.
Sam is an excellent guy and a supremely talented winemaker, as James Halliday noted, “Scott is a star in the making.”
