My best CBDB to date.

About the Wine
L.A.S. Vino stands for - Luck. Art. Science. The elements that Nic Peterkin believes go into making truly great wine. Here is a case in point.
After a uni lecturer exposed him to some of the greatest Chenin Blancs in South Africa, Nic returned home to the Pierro estate where a young South African winemaker had just started working in the winery. After some beers, some gin, and more than a wine or two, they hatched a plan to create a Margaret River Chenin Blanc that was unlike anything ever made in this country. And he has gone for it.
The CBDB (Chenin Blanc Dynamic Blend) is 96% Chenin Blanc and 4% Viognier. He has actively sought out some of the best, old vine Chenin in the region (and there's plenty around) to make this wonderful wine. With only 10 barrels made, this got the works. Cold soaked and basket pressed, fermented in old oak and in Clayvar before spending 11 months in oak and letting a portion go through malo for added texture.
And finally, the whole thing is finished with a French bottle, and Czech glass stopper and crisp wax seal. It looks wild and tastes it too but the enjoyment factor of this and the rest of the L.A.S. Vino range is through the roof.
About L.A.S. Vino
Nic Peterkin’s blood runs red with Margaret River wine. The son of Pierro founder, Dr Mike Peterkin and Shelly Cullen, of you guessed it, Cullen wines fame, the force is strong with this one. His wines are out there, challenging the status quo of one of the country’s most respected wine producing regions. This is the “New Guard” of Margaret River, and the wines are coming out all guns blazing.
Nic is playing with some varieties off the beaten path of classic Margaret River. Nebbiolo, Touriga Nacional, Sousao and Chenin Blanc, all finding a home amongst his eye-catching range. And when it comes to his winemaking, Nic cuts no corners with incredible attention to detail and a willingness to experiment.
There’s some serious substance to Nic's project, being named as the 2016 Gourmet Traveller Young Winemaker of the Year for his eclectic and tantalising releases. L.A.S. Vino is the future of Margaret River and a producer to get behind.
