I like the cut of Jericho’s jib... Just delicious drinking. Ipso, should be in your fridge by now.

About the Wine

Another spot-on Fiano here from one of South Australia's brightest emerging producers - Jericho.

We've seen some outstanding Fianos from McLaren Vale, Riverland and even Clare Valley, but the Adelaide Hills has enormous potential with the Italian variety as well. This comes from Kuitpo in the southern end of the Hills, closer to McLaren Vale where, as Neil Jericho explained to us, the later ripening conditions really suit Fiano.

If you're looking for a versatile, introductory Fiano to try you could hardly do better than this. Textural, full-flavoured yet fresh as a daisy - it's a lovely, well-balanced wine.

About Jericho

Jericho is one of the most exciting emerging producers in South Australia, consistently churning out delicious, characterful and brilliantly priced wines in all styles.

Family owned and run with experienced winemaker Neil Jericho at the helm, they source both traditional and alternative varieties from various vineyards around McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. Neil sums up the Jericho philosophy: “in every wine I like to see varietal flavour and character. I don’t want to overpower the fruit with oak. It’s got to be in balance, with nothing sticking out. They’ve got to be drinkable!”

Modern, creative and smashable wines and across the range, amazing value.

Halliday Wine Companion

"Made strictly adhering to the KISS principle: crushed, pressed, cool-fermented in stainless steel, bottled. The haunting bouquet of field flowers and spices introduces a palate with a mix of lemon/lemon zest, pear and apple flavours within the carapace of textured power that is the mark of fiano." - James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)

"I like the cut of Jericho’s jib. Stylish packaging, interesting wines, erring on the fresh and pure side of winemaking, this one is from the Adelaide Hills and fiano grape here. Light and fresh-feeling, white pear and marzipan, twist of bitterness through the finish. I could stop there, but you’d miss hearing how the perfume is floral, bright with fresh cut pear and nectarine, a touch nutty-savoury too. Just delicious drinking. Ipso, should be in your fridge by now." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

Additional Info

From the Producer

Lovely aromatics of fresh stone fruit and fresh herbs. On the palate; freshly cut stone fruit of apricots and peaches with a touch of melon and lime juice with lovely structure and texture in the mouth. The wine finishes with a lovely texture and fresh acid balance. The palate is fresh and rich - stone fruits and citrus with clean, crisp acidity. A wine with this level of texture and palate weight enables it to match a wide range of food and dishes; from richer seafood dishes such as salmon and cream based pasta dishes, to lighter meat dishes such as roast pork belly.
