About The Wine
The Gembrook Hill Chardonnay is not released every vintage. Oft times winemakers Andrew Marks and Timo Mayer opt to make a vintage Blanc de Blanc with the estate grown Chardonnay.
When they do release a table wine, it's invariably very, very good. With 2016 one of the earliest vintages on record for this estate, the Chardonnay seemed to warrant a table wine release. It sells like hot cakes and is extremely limited.
This is set to be one of the Yarra Valley's best premium Chardonnay releases from 2016. Mike Bennie giving it an excellent 95 points and remarking, "This is in a stellar zone... Glorious drinking." Allocations are tight. Get in fast.
About Gembrook Hill
Based in the cool upper reaches of the Yarra Valley, Gembrook Hill is one of the country's most loved producers of Pinot Noir.
Founded in 1983 by Ian and June Marks, Gembrook is one of the most picturesque vineyards in the region. As well as their stunning Pinot Noirs, they produce excellent examples of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and an elegant Blanc de Blanc in certain vintages.
Ian Marks sadly passed away in 2017. His son Andrew now tends the family vineyard and makes the wines, continuing the family legacy for producing outstanding examples of Upper Yarra wine.
