About The Wine
Candice Helbig and Frewin Ries are pursuing the idea of terroir in their CRFT range, looking for interesting sites with unique characteristics from around the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills.
The Chapel Valley Vineyard is one of the best Pinot Noir vineyards in the region. A former leek farm, this vineyard produces the lightest and daintiest of the CRFT releases this year.
"The coolness of this south facing site always produces our most textural Pinot Noir, and often the lightest in colour." - Candice and Frewin
It's an airy yet complex wine of purity and style. One for the Pinot Noir enthusiast.
About CRFT
The CRFT story is an exciting, and ambitious one.
Husband and wife team of Frewin Ries and Candice Helbig both gained extensive winemaking experience for large companies like Cloudy Bay (Frewin) and Hardys (Helbig), before launching into CRFT with the 2013 vintage.
They only produce tiny volumes of all their wines, and their philosophy is all about minimally interfered with single vineyard wines that truly express the different sub-regions of the Adelaide Hills.
They have purchased a vineyard in the Adelaide Hills and continue to work with trusted local growers to produce their high quality, highly characterful wines.
