About The Wine
This is a new partnership between three brothers, Simon, Jason and Ben Cooke.
Ben, the youngest of the three, has an extensive background in wine, working as everything from a retailer to an assistant winemaker at Shaw + Smith for almost a decade and even vintages overseas at the famed Williams Selyem winery in California.
After starting his own viticultural consulting business in 2012, Ben now produces small batches of wine from the vineyards he manages around the Adelaide Hills. It's fair to say he's hit the ground running.
This Cabernet comes from the organic farm run by the Broderick family in the Basket Range. It's a slippery, elegant cool climate Cabernet which shows great finesse and drinks beautifully from day dot. This isn't the hulking, bulky Cabernet you see further to the North of SA, this is a supple, medium-bodied Cabernet which would perfectly compliment a lamb roast on Sunday afternoon.
