So measured, pure-feeling, detailed and magnificent to drink.

About The Wine
Sangiovese and Syrah are the two flagship varieties on the Castagna estate. The Un Segreto sees their powers combine in one complex, savoury red that shows more than a touch of old-world charm.
The red wines from the Castagna vineyard all show a distinctly gravel-like tannin structure, particularly so in this wine. Sangiovese is dry and earthy, the Syrah is spicy, floral and statuesque - the two blended together is the ultimate expression of the Castagna family estate.
It's a unique wine that will age gracefully for decades to come.
About Castagna
Castagna is one of the leading producers of the Beechworth region.
In 1997, Julian and Carolann Castagna packed up their city life and moved into and caravan on a bare patch of dirt in the Beechworth region of north-east Victoria. Farmed biodynamically from the get go, the Castagnas planted their vineyard with a view to making complex Syrah in the mode of Cote-Rotie and savoury, structural Italian varieties that could compete with their European counterparts.
It's a wildly successful family business that they have built, with son Adam stepping into the winemaking role and a sea of adoring wine collectors awaiting each new release. Castagna wines are true wines of terroir. They taste of where they come from as do all of the great wines of the world.
