Perfume and grace here. It’s a wine that feels very at ease with itself.

About the Wine
The value kings of Margaret River, Blue Poles, have released their first Shiraz in 5 years from the 2016 vintage. No surprises here, it's a ripping drink.
This is ripe and juicy, deliciously well balanced Shiraz, albeit a 'quieter' style than you might find from South Australia or the warmer parts of Victoria. Every wine from Mark Gifford and Tim Markwell provides such great value for money and this is no different.
Gary Walsh awarded it 93 points, declaring it "Very good! in the closing of his review. Just another impressive offering from this much-loved gem of a producer from the West.
About Blue Poles
Blue Poles is the venture of Mark Gifford and Tim Markwell - a pair of experienced geologists who have in the last decade or so created one of the undoubted 'cult hero' labels of Margaret River.
Their red wines are extraordinary not only for their old world charm and quality, but the outrageous value they deliver. Tiny volumes produced but definitely a producer to get to know.
