This is the best “Classico” I’ve tasted from this producer.

About The Wine
The Azelia Barolo combines fruit from seven top crus across Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba.
This is the voice of the vintage for Azelia, aggregating their top vineyards into a complete picture of their part of the Barolo region. It's composed, complete, classic Nebbiolo from one of the best producers of the region.
This wine will continue to peak for well over a decade, particularly in a picture-perfect vintage like 2016.
Barolo fanciers should buy and buy with confidence.
About Azelia
Lorenzo Scavino established Azelia in 1920 in the commune of Castiglione Falletto.
The winery and vineyards have been passed down through the family, from Lorenzo to his son Alfonso in 1967, then to his son Luigi and now his son Lorenzo. Through five generations, the quality of this estate has remained in the top echelon of Piemontese growers/producers.
The wines are traditional in style and showcase special sites across Castiglione Falletto as well as San Rocco, Margheria, Bricco Voghera and Cerretta in Serralunga d’Alba.
"Azelia, can hold their own with the very best of the region. The wines combine power and elegance with a level of virtuosity matched by few in the region…" - The Wine Advocate
