About The Wine

This wine comes from the McIntyre home vineyard in Mornington Peninsula.

In a spectacular vintage like 2015, the fruit from this dry-grown block produces brilliant wines of intensity and structure. Vines planted as early as 1983 thriving in the near perfect conditions on the Peninsula during the 2015 grow season, with excellent results.

The McIntyre Vineyard Pinot Noir is a wine for quiet contemplation. It will cellar well just as it impresses on release.

With a huge 97 points from James Halliday, this is a wonderful wine from a top-flight producer.

Halliday Wine Companion

"Seven clones (MV6, 115, 114, 777, 667, Abel and Pommard), hand-picked, destemmed, wild yeast open-fermented, 19-21 days on skins, matured in French oak (21% new). The bouquet is pure and perfumed, the palate pure silk with wild strawberry and red cherry fruits so intense they all but hid the complex fabric underneath. The balance and length are such that you might think the wine has arrived at its destination, but it has years before all of its secondary fruits can be explored." - James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)

"From the home estate vineyard. From a great year. The power and the glory. In a nutshell. The spice, the fruit, the herbs, the flowers. The road of tannin. The snap of strawberries. This is a wine of balance, power and presence and that’s all you need to know." - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)
