Mayford shiraz has been a beautiful thing on many occasions but this release arguably takes the cake.... We have ourselves something special here.

About the Wine
Eleana and Bryan at Mayford in Porepunkah produce some of the finest boutique wines in the Alpine Valleys. Their small vineyard in Porepunkah consistently produces fruit of epic intensity and utter class. Their latest release of Shiraz could very well be their best to date.
As described by Campbell Mattinson in his colossal 96 point review, "We have ourselves something special here." James Halliday seemed to agree with his 96 point review dubbing it, "a siren calling you to come onto the rocks."
The beauty of a cool-climate combined with the power of fruit ripened in a warmer year. It's a brilliant combination and one that has been perfectly realised by Eleana. Kudos.

The Alpine Valley is one of the most fascinating emerging regions of Australian wine.
Not bound by the traditions of some of its more established neighbouring Victorian regions, the Alpine Valleys is combining the natural freshness its cool climate delivers with a willingness to experiment with alternative varieties to kick some huge goals.
The productions are small, the quality is high and this cool climate region is on a mission to stamp its authority on Australian wine.
