About The Wine
Àl’étatpur is a French term which translates to ‘the pure state’ - something that Ben and Sarah Chipman are striving to create in their small batch releases under this label.
This is Barossa Shiraz, fermented with 50% whole bunches and gently pressed over a 24-hour cycle and was sent to old oak with no additions until bottling. Oak sits firmly in the background here.
This is about the pure, glorious fruit that the Barossa is famous for.
It's a premium Shiraz made with a natural philosophy and a unique example of Shiraz from this part of the world. Only 60 dozen made.
Ben "Chippy" Chipman and Toby "Yappy" Yap are the fools of Tomfoolery.
Their brand is built on a simple philosophy: "small parcels of fruit, hand-crafted through a simple and relatively non-interventional approach with the aim to truly reflect the individual characteristics of the vineyard and variety. Tomfoolery wines are made with old world simplicity in a new world of wine."
