About The Wine

This famous wine sits amongst the pantheon of great Australian white wines.

Thomas Braemore sits comfortably among the biggest names of the famed Hunter Valley wine style. The Braemore vineyard is one of the most iconic in the entire region, having consistently yeilded some of the region's highest quality fruit for decades.

The man who gets the pick of this fruit is Andrew Thomas.

The 'Cellar Reserve' is Thommo's pick of the best of the best fruit. This stuff is electric. He releases it with some bottle age so you get a glimpse of what lies ahead for this great wine. Something for the patient to hide away yet also something you can consume now and revel in its glory.

This is Hunter Valley Semillon at its finest. It's a beautiful thing.

From The Producer

Hunter Valley semillon is one of the worlds most uniquely regional wine styles. The Braemore vineyard (planted 1969) is situated on the sandy alluvial flats of Hermitage Road, Pokolbin, and consistently produces semillon featuring freshness, vibrancy and remarkable longevity. This wine has achieved an enviable reputation in recent years as being one of the finest examples of classic Hunter Valley semillon.

The 2014 vintage is widely regarded as an outstanding for the Hunter Valley. A relatively wet winter followed by a mild and dry growing season allowed for perfect ripening of the grapes whilst retaining excellent natural acidity. Hand picked on the 28th January, the grapes were lightly pressed to minimise phenolics and fermented in stainless steel using a neutral yeast to enhance varietal purity. The wine spent six weeks resting on its yeast lees prior to fining in preparation for bottling. Exactly 512 six-packs of this wine have been set aside in our climate controlled cellar destined for re-release with six years bottle age.

Halliday Wine Companion

"A classic example of a wine that is still only part of the way on the journey to full development. The colour is still quartz-green, the mouthfeel in perfect balance, and the fruit with a sweetness (not residual sugar) that is totally seductive." - James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)
