One for New Year’s Eve.
Curly Haslam-Coates (Wine Front)
About This Wine
Super small-batch, this wine is never disgorged in quantity, with only 500 or so bottles released with each batch.
100% Chardonnay from the Tamar, this wine is fresh, complex and elegant. Extended time on lees contributes exceptional aromas of depth and complexity. The palate is refined but rich with a core of bright acidity, it’s toasty, with fresh fruit and a savoury, saline finish.
A balanced wine with soft texture, this is superb stuff, and a benchmark wine for Aussie bubbles.
About Henskens Rankin
Established in 2010 Henskens Rankin is a collaborative project based in Hobart for Frieda Henskens and David Rankin, two individuals who were drawn to the magic of winemaking from a young age.
Founded with just two tonne of fruit in tiny parcels and a vision of creating distinctively Tasmanian styles of sparkling, they source exceptional fruit from sustainably-minded growers throughout the island.
The principle that luxury is ethical drives their business, guiding the winemaking and choice of partners.
