It’s a bit wild, and highly engaging. Fair to say, I love drinking it.
About The Wine
This is a cracking Grenache from Dudley and Irina at Inkwell / Dubstyle.
This is old bush vine fruit fermented as whole bunches. No additions, no fining or filtering, just raw, delicious Grenache from this lovely part of the world.
It is frisky and savoury all at once; a wine that makes you want to bob your head and tap your foot as you slug it down. It's an exploration of winemaking ideas from this dynamic McLaren Vale couple and it's right on the money.
Gary Walsh at the Wine Front was a big fan in his 94 point review. No doubt you will too.
Husband and wife duo Dudley Brown and Irina Santiago-Brown of Inkwell wines in McLaren Vale, are true advocates of sustainable farming practices and are self confessedly “fanatical about (their) vines and wines.”
Dubstyle is a range of wines designed by Inkwell proprietors as a way for them to stretch their winemaking wings beyond the reaches of their home vineyard.
They've found some stunning vineyards in the surrounding areas to source from, they make the wines at their home in McLaren Vale, then like any great music track, they mix and blend the certain parts until the wine 'sounds' just right.
