About The Wine
The Bourgogne Rouge from this Domaine gives you a good look at essentially Pommard from excellent vineyards at a reasonable price.
This cuveé is selected from younger vines and plots outside the designated 1er Crus. It's made in a similar style to the top Crus, however, the Bourgogne is much more approachable in its youth.
This is a powerful style of Bourgogne, firm in tannin, ripe in fruit. It's a lot of bang-for-your-Burgundy buck.
About Domaine Parent
This Pommard-based Domaine has been a family institution since 1803.
Sisters Anne Parent and Catherine Fages-Parent are now the twelfth generation of Burgundian vignerons to take up the family mantle. Their vineyard holdings are primarily across renowned Pommard 1er Crus with a smattering from Ladoix, Monthelie and Beaune.
Though a sensitive touch in the cellar is their typical MO, the wines they produce are structural, savoury and have classic Burgundian power.
