The Lane Vineyard
About the Wine
To make a tribute wine is a daunting thing. The wine should encapsulate all that was loved and reverred in the name-sake. It should be personal and unique. It should have true character. It should be made with respect and deference. All of these things are to be found in The Lane Vineyards JC Shiraz Cabernet.
Named in honour of the late Jack Crighton, father of John, the man who established The Lane's formidable reputation, this wine has the gravitas so needed in such a wine. A top cuveè blend of their best old vine material off the Estate, the 2009 is just starting to show its true colour. It was called "A convincing tribute" by James Halliday in his 96 point review and sits comfortably amongst most the most respected wines in South Australia.
This is a wine built for special occasions, big glasses, and a fine meal. A thing of rare beauty. Enjoy.
