- The Home of Artisan Australian Wine!
This is the latest addition to The Lane stable, a twin sparkling Rosé to accompany the Lois Blanc de Blanc. This wine is predominately comprised of Chardonnay, the same that makes the Blanc de Blanc, but with a tiny addition (10%) of Pinot Noir to give a lift and a dash of colour. It's remarkable what that small amount of Pinot Noir can contribute. It has transformed this wine into a floral beauty, the perfect accompaniment to your next picnic.
What it Tastes Like
Delicate perfume with hints of strawberry and white chocolate, flowers in full bloom. It's gently creamy with a fine bead and acidity which rings through the finish keeping it fresh and lively. Barely blushed with colour but a lovely style all round. Easy drinking and loveable fizz.
Blend of three clones of Chardonnay, all shoot thinned early in the season to enhance vine balance, even ripening and focus flavour concentration. Pinot Noir clones 114, 115 and MV6 used from across four blocks. Traditional method with 8g/l dosage.
Bottle Size: 750ml
Drink Until: 2020
About the Producer
The Lane are forging a reputation as one of the Adelaide Hills’ premier producers, and are all about quality and authenticity with every single berry grown on site at their own vineyard. Their philosophy is to craft premium single vineyard wines that combine the finesse of Europe, the flavour of Australia and the unique characteristics of their vineyard.
The Adelaide Hills may be the most energised wine region in the country. The sense of exploration and creativity amongst the tribe of talented young winemakers in this region is unparralelled. The Hills has become crucible of Australian wine talent, offering an array of varieties, from classics such as Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, to new varieties like Nebbiolo and Grüner Veltliner for the younger generation to play with. Every vintage brings new colour and complexity to the rich wine, food and produce culture of this cool climate region.
No variety captures the hearts and minds of the wine lover quite like Pinot Noir. It’s the unicorn of many a winemaker. Notoriously fickle to grow, this delicate red variety can deliver a kaleidoscope of flavours and aromas, from the bright and floral to the moody and mysterious and everything in between. The cooler regions of Australia are where Pinot Noir is most at home. Look to Tasmania and Victoria for the best examples, with some quality wines beginning to show from the Great Southern and from the cooler parts of NSW. Falling in love with Pinot Noir can be a life long affair, beware the charms of this most enchanting of grapes.
