About The Wine
The Piggy Pop (formerly Heavy Petting) Pet Nat is the wild creation of notable UK Master of Wine, Tim Wildman.
Each year Tim makes the pilgrimage from the UK to South Australia to pursue his bespoke Pet Nat project.
This Nero d'Avola fruit is hand harvested from a great lovingly-farmed vineyard in McLaren Vale by viticulturist Sue Trott.
Piggy is a fun times wine, filled to bursting point with fresh berries and licorice, a fine creamy mousse and refreshing acidity.
Such a fun wine with as much personality as its creator.
About Petillant Naturel
Pétillant-Naturel (natural sparkling) is an ancient, natural form of fizzy wine which is bottled before the completion of primary fermentation.
As the yeasts eat the sugar inside the bottle, turning it into alcohol, the yeast bugs excrete carbon dioxide (CO2) which causes the juice to become fizzy. Pet-Nats are typically released young and fresh, often within months of being picked and can be made from any grape variety.
This method of winemaking is known as méthode ancestral.
