About The Wine
VS&B continue to kick goals with each new release - without a doubt one of the great rising stars out of Victoria. Here comes their beautiful dry, complex Rosé, right on point.
This all-Beechworth blend of Pinot Noir and Sangiovese is a must-try for lovers of a more savoury style of Rosé. It was made naturally with no additions except a little sulphur. Hand picked, basket pressed straight into, as Tessa puts it, "oooooooold barriques" then left alone on lees for a few months to build body.
The fragrance and soft red berries of Pinot Noir combined with the gentle spice and structure of Sangiovese makes for a winning combination.
Rosé continues to grow in popularity and with so many easy-to-love examples like this out there at the moment, it's not hard to see why.
About Vignerons Schmölzer & Brown
Tessa and Jeremy are playing a long-game with their Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown label.
They have invested in a block of land high in the hills behind Beechworth and have planted 10,000 vines on it over the last couple of years with the plan to farm it organically. Tessa has a wealth of experience from time at Sorrenberg and Kooyong, Jeremy is an architect by trade with an eye for detail.
It comes as no surprise that the buzz around this husband and wife team is palpable and the praise is high. Max Allen called them, “one of a remarkable number of impressive new wine labels to have cropped up in Beechworth over the last five years.”
They are going to be at the forefront of Beechworth wine for many years to come.
