About The Wine
This is Ben Haines' take on Nebbiolo from one of the country's most notable Nebbiolo sites.
The Malakoff vineyard produced exquisite fruit in the near-perfect 2015 vintage. Ben took full advantage.
After a wild ferment this spent 383 days on skins where the tannins softened beautifully. It was then pressed to large old barrels for a long sleep before being bottled in early 2017.
It takes a long time to get Nebbiolo right. Ben has nailed this one first go.
About Ben Haines Wines
Ben Haines has a passion for producing wines that speak with a sense of place.
Ben's philosophy that, "Provenance is the heart and soul of all great things – family, culture, food, art…" has seen him become one of Victoria's most sort after winemakers.
He built a formidable reputation as Cheif Winemaker at Mt Langi Ghiran and that is only increasing with his sole focus now turned to own label, Ben Haines Wine.
Ben works with special sites across Victoria, crafting small batches of impeccable wines that tell the stories of these great sites.
