About The Wine
The Long Way Around Tinto is a fantastic red wine born from old dry-grown Grenache in the Swan Valley.
With the dryness of the Swan, Bryan took inspiration from more savoury expressions of the variety found in Spain for this wine. It's firm, dry and spicy with a sweet core of cherry/raspberry fruit. A splash of Tempranillo and Graciano from their hilltops vineyards, plus a little bit of Mataro from Riverland, spice things up a little more.
It's an excellent wine that we're sure you'll love.
About Ravensworth
Bryan Martin is a winemaker at the height of his powers. Setting aside the exceptional work he is doing behind the scenes at regional flagbearer, Clonakilla, his Ravensworth wines have become some of the Canberra region’s hottest releases.
Bryan’s winemaking style is equal parts science and artistic flair. He’s an adventurous spirit trapped in the body of a technical virtuoso. A concert pianist jamming to free jazz. It’s a killer combination.
His range is full of alternative varieties and whacky blends, with texture and balance the key in everything. These are unique wines from a region on the up and up and now some of Canberra’s most sought-after wines.

This is one of a pair of multi-region blends based on the fruit from this wonderful old vineyard in the Swan valley near Perth. Dry grown, bush vines, quite hot area very reminiscent of Spain and Portugal.
Our Long Way Around Tinto is based on this Swan valley Grenache blended with Tempranillo and Graciano from our local hilltops vineyards and a little Mataro from Riverland to spice things up.

"The 90yo grenache from the Swan Valley (65%) makes a return, with 20/10% tempranillo/graciano from Hilltops, oh and 10% monastrell from Ricca Terra Farm in the Riverland. Yep, long way around. Parcels of fruit spent 2-3 weeks on skins then matured in used puncheons for 9 months. A very good Iberian outcome. It's super-savoury, even if it has a core of dark red fruit plus pomegranate juice. Earthy, with lots of Middle Eastern spices from sumac to a more complex ras el hanout, with grainy and lightly if pleasantly drying tannins. Do I have to order in dozens? No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!
Are there volume discounts? No, our pricing is designed to be the best in market already - no marking up and then discounting down! For very large orders (weddings, etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call.
Do we price match? Yes, within reason. Everyday low & consistent pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll consider matching it. We'll even retrospectively issue you store credit if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.
Can coupons and discounts be stacked? No, only one discount or coupon can be applied to an order at once.
I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me? This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 02 8376 8775 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.
Does Different Drop have a physical store? No. Just an a warehouse/office. We occasionally do events however, so sign up to our newsletter or follow us on instagram to stay in the loop.
Can I special order a wine you do not sell? If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
