2019 Dormilona Clayface Pet-Nat
Jo Perry is back with a super-limited release of a Pet-Nat under her much-loved Clayface label.
This is a super funky, chunky, fizzy, crazy little wine. Chenin packing in the flavour, the amphora work souping up the texture.
No additions at any point for this wine. From the vine, to the clay pot, to the bottle, nothing added and nothing taken away. It's a crazy small make, and won't be around for long.
If you're digging on the Pet-Nat wave washing over our shores, Jo's is a must try.Read more about 2019 Dormilona Clayface Pet-Nat
2019 Somos Cortese
A unique white wine here from the Somos team, from the obscure Italian grape Cortese.
This refreshing variety finds its home typically in Piedmont, Italy, but seems to have found a great home away from home on the Ceravolo vineyard in the Basket Range of the Adelaide Hills.
Cortese can be a tad neutral if left to its own devices, so the Somos boys have tricked it up a little here with 40% of the grapes being fermented on skins for an impressive 90 days.
The result is a crisp and gently savoury white wine with plenty of interest.Read more about 2019 Somos Cortese
2019 L.A.S. Vino Golden Girl
Nic Peterkin takes a trip to skin contact land with this new release named Golden Girl.
This is a cosmic blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Zibbibo, Viognier and Riesling in one hyper-aromatic, psychedelic orange coloured wine.
This is an awesome new addition to his range - a wild, crunchy, full-blown amber wine built around the most aromatic white varieties Nic has at his disposal. It's all flowers, bathbombs, candied fruits and wild herbs. A crazy yet delicious drinking experience and one that's already sold out at cellar door.
These are the last remaining stocks in the country. Blink and you'll miss it.Read more about 2019 L.A.S. Vino Golden Girl
2018 Frankly This Wine Was Made By Bob Rosé
Frankly, this is a delicious and left of centre Rosé from a left of centre NSW wine label.
Bob Colman source organic grapes from the Orange region, then trucked them up to his shed in Blackheath, NSW.
He brings the wines to bottle with no additions. This whacky and super-slurpable blend is made from Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, with a splash of Malbec.
Is it a Rosé? Is it a light-chillable red? Who knows. And frankly, who cares!
Whatever it is, it's perfect for this upcoming Summer.Read more about 2018 Frankly This Wine Was Made By Bob Rosé
2019 Express Winemakers Drinking Wine
Express Winemakers are making fun wines with a serious edge out of WA's Great Southern region.
This red is a great case in point. The Drinking Wine is built for ultimate smashability, a wine to slug down during a casual luncheon or to rip the top off when unexpected friends drop by.
It's made from mainly Grenache and Mataro with a splash of Great Southern Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Riesling all from organic farms.
This is the best version of this wine to date - juicy, crunchy and brimming with life.
It's hard to imagine a red wine that is easier to drink.Read more about 2019 Express Winemakers Drinking Wine
2018 Blood Moon Wines Eruption! Cabernet Franc
This ultra-juicy Sunbury Cab Franc was made by the three lads at Bloodmoon winery.
The trio, Matthew, Glenn and Alex met during their oenology and viticulture studies, kicking off their own project in 2014.
Under a blood moon they pressed their first small parcel of Yarra Shiraz. Since then their partnership has blossomed.
Matthew has farmed this vineyard in Riddells Creek at the northern end of the Sunbury appellation since 2015. The vines are 30-years-old. There's Riesling and Chenin there too.
This juicy, succulent Cab Franc was tricked up with a splash of Riesling for a little extra zip through the palate and a lift of floral aromatics. It's a strange but delicious varietal partnership that works a treat.Read more about 2018 Blood Moon Wines Eruption! Cabernet Franc
