2019 Express Winemakers L'Orange
This is a fantastic introduction into the wild and wooly world of skin contact white wines.
This Riesling fruit is from one of the more special sites in the west, the great L’enclos du Tertre vineyard farmed by Lee Hasselgrove. The fruit spent eight days on skins to pick up colour, tannin, texture and chew. The first full swing at this fun wine style from young Ryan O'Meara and he's hit it out of the park.
If you're looking to check out the 'orange' or 'amber' wine scene but don't know where to start, this is the perfect gateway drug.Read more about 2019 Express Winemakers L'Orange
2019 Mada Wines Nebbiolo Rose
This is Nebbiolo from a dry-grown vineyard outside of Young in NSW.
It was made in a layered, yet delicious style. Some barrel ageing, a little time spent on lees, the fruit really sings from the glass, but there's some complexity here too.
It's dry, pale and wildly aromatic, the famous Nebbiolo tannin doing plenty here to lend a little structure and framing. This is a thirst-crushing style of Rosé.
The third release of Rose nailed well and truly by Hamish.Read more about 2019 Mada Wines Nebbiolo Rose
