About The Wine
Here's an interesting and versatile white blend from young Margaret River winemaker Remi Guise.
Remi has taken four of the original white varieties to be planted in the region and combined them into a fresh and decidedly savoury wine of gentle complexity and easy drinkability.
The blend of Chenin Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay and Muscat is an unusual one, for sure, but all the elements of each variety play off each other seamlessly under Remi's handling.
Mike Bennie raved about it in his review of this wine, crowing, "Such good drinking, with plenty going on. Yes yes."
Remi Guise is starting something very compelling in Western Australia.
His idea for tripe.Iscariot centres around the thesis that from 'berry to stalk' the whole of the plant should be used in the winemaking process.
No waste, no 'cleaning up' of the wines. Driving to make the most character filled and unique wines that any site can produce.
The wines are fascinating and complex alt-stylings of undervalued Margaret River varieties.
Dig in, this is a project to keep a close eye on.
