I saw it as an ideal place to create a blend that included varieties I believe will see McLaren Vale in to the future...
About The Wine
The S.C. Pannell Tempranillo Touriga has been one of the most important 'alternative variety' wines in Australia of the last decade.
A multiple-time winner of 'Best Wine' at the Alternative Varieties Wine Show, the 'Temp Touriga' has made many fans for it's suave, approachable style and suitability to modern Australian wine drinking culture.
When Pannell purchased the Koomilya vineyard, he knew those two varieties would thrive amongst the gum trees and wild flowers of the block.
This wine is similar to the S.C. Pannell edition: it's wonderfully floral and slippery-smooth - the only major difference: the structure.
Red wines from Koomilya carry the DNA of the vineyard in the form of firm, moreish tannin that will see the wine mature for many years to come.
