About The Pack

The diversity of styles of Riesling that are made across Australia is astounding.

From Canberra to Great Southern, from Tasmania to the Clare, there are a dizzying array of different styles which is part of what makes Riesling such a great grape to explore.

In this mixed pack you can tour all the main Australian Riesling hotspots and check out some of the best producers of the regions. There is some classic examples from Henty, the Clare Valey and Great Southern and some slightly more adventurous ones from the Eden Valley, Canberra and the Tamar Valley.

For Riesling fans, this pack has it all.

Enjoy.

2018 Mada Wines Riesling

The third release of Hamish Young's Mada Wines Riesling is another blinder.

Again, Hamish has played around with some skin contact and egg fermentation to amp-up the mouthfeel in this sizzling Murrumbateman Riesling. This is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after Rieslings in the Canberra region.

This is a smashing release from Hamish, a Canberra Riesling that feels electric to drink. Get some while you can, there's very little of this available and the Mada Wines are in high demand.

2018 Crawford River Young Vines Riesling

There are a few names associated with Australia's best Rieslings, Crawford River is right at the top of that list.

This 'Young Vine' example is designed to be fresh, pure and energetic, but with the vines now over 15 years of age there is plenty of depth and concentration there too.

The 2018 vintage is a classic release of the usual high standard from the Crawford River cellar.

It is incredible to find such purity, such precision, such complexity in Riesling at this price. And with every year that passes, this 'Young Vine' offering becomes better value for money. Put simply, a delicious wine from an iconic Aussie Riesling producer!

2018 Two Tonne Tasmania TMV Riesling

Riesling from the Tamar Valley here (TMV) from young, explosive winemaker, Ricky Evans.

This is a tightly coiled and refined Riesling of streamlined fruit character and finesse. A smidge of residual sugar gives this a lovely balance in the mouth, making it brilliant to drink immediately, though a sleep in the cellar is also a fine option.

Ricky continues to impress, a rising star of the Tasmanian wine scene and one to keep a close eye on. If you love Riesling from cooler climes, this is absoloutely worth a look.

2018 Rieslingfreak No.3 Clare Valley Riesling

The Rieslingfreak No. 3 is John Hughes' outstanding value Clare Valley Riesling.

The Clare Valley is John's home. This wine captures the essence of the region. This comes from John's home vineyard, it's the wine he watches closest from vine to bottle.

Firm, steely but with a generosity that makes this a delicious drink now or primed for decades in the cellar. An absolute bargain and a must have for all lovers of Australian Riesling.

2018 Sigurd Riesling

The Riesling from Dan Graham at Sigurd is not your classic 'line and length' South Australian Riesling.

Time on lees and time in oak lends some weight and creamy mouthfeel to the wine, the rcy line of acid through the spine of the wine keeping it precise and focused through the mouth.

It's a Riesling with a little more interest under the hood.

Unfined, unfiltered, unreal to drink.

2017 L’Enclos du Tertre Riesling

In just a few short years, this has become a new high watermark for Western Australian Riesling.

Lee and Clemence have worked with this fruit for many years. They know this site like the back of their hand. This old vine, dry-grown block is now managed by them. Here all the elements of Riesling come together in beautiful harmony.

It has incredible length and drive, a thrust through the mouth which is spine-tingling. Grip, texture, crunch and searing acidity - this has it all. Mike Bennie gave this a huge 97+ points, the highest rating ever for a young Australian Riesling on The Wine Front.

As far as Australian Riesling goes, L’Enclos du Tertre is right at the apex.
